Not specified Storm Surge Baltic Porter - 10L All Grain Kit
This Baltic Porter is complex but well worth the wait. "There are two keys to brewing this beer. The first is the malt bill. It's fairly complex, and for that reason some patience is required. In my experience, the more complex the grain bill, the more conditioning the beer needs for the flavours to meld. The other key is fermentation. The strain of yeast is largely unimportant and can be either lager or ale as long as esters are restrained. I used an ale yeast that ferments cleanly at lower temperatures just because it was available. The recipe is also fairly dry for the style, which is a personal preference, so just look for yeast that ferments cleanly, attenuates well, and can handle the higher ABV." Giant pretzels, giant steins, dirndls and lederhosen, these iconic Bavarian (German) items are only surpassed by perhaps one thing. AND THAT’S BIER! Oktoberfest originated in Munich to bid a final farewell to Fest Season. Every town in Bavaria has a fest between March and October, and the largest town in Bavaria holds the final and largest of the year.A Märzen is the same as an Oktoberfest beer. The origin is that the Biermeisters made the beer in March and conditioned it until their respectable fest. This beer dramatically varies town to town, but in essence, should be slightly high ABV (5.5% or above), have some to dark colouring to it, and be extremely sessionable. This is a darker version of a lager! Give this a go and have yourself an Octoba down unda!(FYI the only reason I’ve used a California Lager Yeast over a traditional Bavarian yeast is the time of year. Who doesn't love a refreshing beverage, let alone an adult beverage? This beer was inspired by long days and warm nights, and the warm and fuzzy feeling you get on a Summer's Day.Having done this recipe with over 7 hops, it seems the shop has settled on Riwaka being the best of the 7 so far.The beer is balanced, not overly bitter, and an absolute citrus eruption, leading to a nearly knee wobbling smooth finish.The chit wheat really shines in this recipe, and does, indeed, give a 'velvety' mouthfeel. My Store Smoke on the Water Grodziskie - 10L All Grain Kit
Goodziskie is a traditional polish beer brewed with 100% Oat Smoked Malt that was revived by the Polish Homebrewers Association in 2011.The beer is traditionally light in the alcohol hops and smoke at 3-3.5ABV. It is described as a mid-strength smokey type hybrid pilsner brewed with a German Ale or Kolsch type yeast. The smoke favour is subtle unlike the German smoked beers from Bamburg and will be a great beer to drink as the nights get a bit cooler. The Hop + Grain Daves Deliriums - 10L All Grain Kit
The hop is EXTREMELY complex and the first of its kind, really exhibiting cherry flavours in the beer. The main flavours are cherry, raspberry, peach, and banana. This hop is also an excellent dual-purpose hop, having high amounts of Co-Humulone which gives you the clean bitterness required for beer, especially IPAs. The Hop + Grain Hi SEAS Hazy IPA - 10L All Grain Kit
S.E.A.S. Strata, El Dorado, Azacca, and Sabro. This combination of hops has been one of my favourites in my never-ending series of Hazy IPA experiments. When we first brewed it, it poured out of the keg with the uncanny aroma of cannabis and tropical fruit. The flavour can be best described Fruit Loops breakfast cereal with just a hint of coconut from the Sabro. The yeast plays a crucial role in achieving this profile. Pitching warm at 23 C, and even under pitching (0.35 g/L dry yeast, yes that’s only 7 grams) can boost ester production and yeast-derived fruit flavours. All hop additions are an equal mixture of the four hops included. If you are looking to try out a new Hazy IPA recipe, give this a shot. If you haven’t brewed a Hazy, JOIN THE FUTURE! This recipe is named after the flight with United Airlines between Chicago (my hometown) and Sydney. I created it attempting to model one of my favourite brews at the time, Strata Amarillo IPA from Pirate Life Brewing. I was enjoying a good brew outside at the time, white I was manning the BBQ, and had a moment to thank the Universe that I was in such a good position. The beer itself is pretty simple, and the only real complexity to it is the depth of Strata, and the support flavours of Amarillo. Other than that, is almost a SMaSH. Give it a go and really discover what these hops are all about. I made the recipe early on in my brewing days, and it actually turned out quite well every time. This is a beer that’s as cosy as a pair of merino socks and log fire. English Dark mild is a style of beer that fits into a pocket of beers that have Malty sweetness, hop aromatics and flavours and sessionability!
