Goodziskie is a traditional polish beer brewed with 100% Oat Smoked Malt that was revived by the Polish Homebrewers Association in 2011.The beer is traditionally light in the alcohol hops and smoke at 3-3.5ABV. It is described as a mid-strength smokey type hybrid pilsner brewed with a German Ale or Kolsch type yeast. The smoke favour is subtle unlike the German smoked beers from Bamburg and will be a great beer to drink as the nights get a bit cooler. Galaxy is probably the most famous hop in Australia. I’m willing to bet that every pale ale (9/10 at least) uses Galaxy in Australia. It is an absolute powerhouse. My inspiration for this beer was born out of using the Norwegian yeast Kveik (pronounced Ka-wi-k) and the lovey fruit flavours and esters it produces. This beer really shows how a hop and yeast pairing can complement one another. The potency of the Kviek, balanced by the potency of the Galaxy. When Talus first came to the shop, I was absolutely blown away. Daughter of Sabro, Talus has some characteristics of its mother, but being wild pollinated, it took on many other characteristics. Most find Sabro pretty single use in Aroma, and very powerful with coconut. Talus on the palette goes from Pink Grapefruit, to Coconut, to Piney, to Peppery. It is also a dual-purpose hop and can be used for bittering and aroma. We have used Talus as a dry hopped Saison and were absolutely blown away. Pink Boots is an annually released blended hop of several different hops, which derives its name from Yakima Hops partnering with the Pink Boots Society, which is a non-profit that focuses on women in the Brewing Industry.
