Caseys Brewery Black Lager - Casey's FWK
A smotth and malty Central European style black larger. Brewed with Pilsener and Munich malts, German dark crystal and black malt. For smoothness, the black malt was prepared seperately with a 24 hour cold water infusion, Mash temperature was 66 degrees. Bitterness of 22IBU has been achieved using Magnum and Hallertau. Optional dry hop with Hallertau. Suggested Yeast: Saflager W-34/70, Safale S-04, M42 Mangrove Jack New World Strong Ale or Nottingham Heavy dry hopping with suitable American hops and Safale US-05 would turn this into a black IPA. Instructions: Start with a clean and sanitised fermentation vessel Decant FWK cube into fermenter and aerate wort Add 3 litres of sanitary water at room temperature to bring volume to 20L if desired (individual brewer may choose to reduce water volume to alter starting gravity and ABV) Pitch yeast as per manufacturers instructions Add dry hop near or at end of fermentation, dry hop approximately 3 days before bottling or kegging. My Store Black/Roasted Malt per kg
Black malt, also called patent malt or black patent malt, is barley malt that has been kilned to the point of carbonising, around 200C. Black malt provides the colour and some of the flavour in black porter, contributing an acrid, ashy undertone to the taste. In small quantities, black malt can also be used to darken beer to a desired colour, sometimes as a substitute for caramel colour. Due to its high kilning temperature, it contains no enzymes. Our house black malt is Joe White Roasted Malt.

My Store Blue Butterfly Pea Flower - 25gm
Blue Butterfly Pea Flowers can be used as a herbal tea, creating a vivid blue tea that's high in antioxidants. But we like to use it in gin (or other spirits) to create colour-changing gin - a gin that's blue, until you add tonic or lemon juice to make it turn pink ! Clean and dry the container being used to infuse your blue gin (or vodka). Add 10 flowers per 250ml of your flavourite gin. Put the lid on, give it a shake, and leave to steep overnight - or longer, to achieve your desired colour, then strain the flowers out and decant into your bottle. If the colour is a little more purple than blue, use the tiniest touch of sodium bicarbonate to adjust the pH to make the gin or vodka a little less acidic. Use no more than 1/8tsp per 250ml. When ready to serve, pour over the (slightly acidic) tonic water, and watch the gin and tonic turn pinky-purple !

If you've been to Boston, you might have tried a Sam Adams beer. This brewski is inspired by their Boston Lager. The simple grain bill provides a decent malt backbone to accompany the mellow noble hop profile. The mosaic dry hop adds a bit of tropical, berry flavor to compliment the earthy, herbal notes of the German hops. This recipe was originally brewed for my Grandpa's 90th birthday, ironically he's from New York City. He always said "Hey!
