The Hop + Grain American Pale Ale - Extract Recipe Kit
The beer that sparked the American craft beer revolution - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. In 1980, Sierra Nevada Brewery loaded their Pale Ale up with Cascade - a new hop at the time named after the mountain range - giving the intense aromas of pine and citrus sparked the American craft beer revolution. Using a base of Coopers Bootmaker Pale Ale, we’ve added a cara malt steep to match Sierra’s malt backbone and added in some dextrose to reach that higher alcohol content. The hop schedule is all Cascade, so we add some in early for bitterness and a good dose of dry hop. Sit back and imagine that you’re sipping beer in sunny California. Recipe contains Bootmaker Pale Ae Extract, Light Malt Extract, Cascade Hops, US West Coast Yeast, Dextrose, Cara malt grain This is a 23l recipe for our 25 litre fermentors or any other 25 litre vessel.

Gladfield Aurora Malt
Gladfield Aurora Malt is an aromatic malt which has been developed to produce rich bready, fruitcake aroma and an orange red colour. Aurora Malt has a long traditional germination process to create complex sugars and amino acids which react during a careful kilning regime. The resulting Maillard reaction is responsible for the colour, flavour and aroma. Aurora Malt is ideal for dark ales, Belgium style and high alcohol beers. If you want to make that big malty, rich beer then this is a great malt to use along with Gladfield Crystal and Red Back Malts. Gladfield Crystal Malt will add sweetness to Aurora Malt and further enhance the bready and fruitcake aromas. Gladfield Red Back and Shepherds Delight Malts bring out the red colours of Aurora Malt and also introduce complementary flavours to the finished beer. My Store Bavarian Bliss - 10L All Grain Kit
Giant pretzels, giant steins, dirndls and lederhosen, these iconic Bavarian (German) items are only surpassed by perhaps one thing. AND THAT’S BIER! Oktoberfest originated in Munich to bid a final farewell to Fest Season. Every town in Bavaria has a fest between March and October, and the largest town in Bavaria holds the final and largest of the year.A Märzen is the same as an Oktoberfest beer. The origin is that the Biermeisters made the beer in March and conditioned it until their respectable fest. This beer dramatically varies town to town, but in essence, should be slightly high ABV (5.5% or above), have some to dark colouring to it, and be extremely sessionable. This is a darker version of a lager! Give this a go and have yourself an Octoba down unda!(FYI the only reason I’ve used a California Lager Yeast over a traditional Bavarian yeast is the time of year. Feel free to add in the customer notes that you’d prefer a Bavarian or Bohemian Lager yeast) Our all-grain kits are our own tried and tested recipes for classic and modern beer styles. The Hop + Grain Beekeeper - Extract Recipe Kit
Honey can be a welcome addition in Wheat Beer and it carries some favour with the Australian Craft Beer industry. This is shown by the number of interesting Honey Wheat Beer varieties readily available in the local liquor store. Some of the ingredients and features of this style casts similarities to a Weissbier (category 15.A. of BJCP style guidelines) but the inclusion of honey moves it more toward Specialty Beer, category 23. This category covers an eclectic collection of brews that don’t quite fit into existing categories or are yet to reach a level of popularity to warrant the formation of a new category. This Honey Wheat recipe combines more Light Dry Malt than a typical Weissbier, which could make it a bit heavy, but the honey addition helps to lighten the mouthfeel. Blue Gum honey was chosen because its flavour and aroma marries up nicely with that of a typical Wheat Beer but you may like to experiment with different types of honey and yeast. Just be sure to make the apiarists proud! Recipe contains Preachers Hefe wheat, light dry malt extract, Munich yeast - please note you need to have 335 gm of your favourite honey This is a 23l recipe for our 25 litre fermentors or any other 25 litre vessel. My Store Bentonite - 100gm
Bentonite is a type of very fine clay made of aluminium-silicate. It is distinct from other clays in that it is formed from volcanic ash. Bentonite is principally used to remove proteins from white wine and juice, as it is a negatively charged clay colloid and reacts with positively charged proteins, precipitating them from the wine. Use of bentonite in red wines should be limited because of its ability to reduce colour by adsorption of anthocyanins. Mix 3 tablespoons of Bentonite to 500ml of boiling water. It is then recommended that you add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the slurry mix to each 5 litres of wine that is to be treated.
