The hop is EXTREMELY complex and the first of its kind, really exhibiting cherry flavours in the beer. The main flavours are cherry, raspberry, peach, and banana. This hop is also an excellent dual-purpose hop, having high amounts of Co-Humulone which gives you the clean bitterness required for beer, especially IPAs. The recipe itself is my usual single hop recipe, but I’ve added honey malt to really display the cherry flavour. Give it a go, and as always, bring yours into the shop! Cheers! Inspired by the Star Wars original trilogy, the Pop Culture Brews podcast (2019-2021) crew set out on an intergalactic mission to create beer recipes inspired by episodes IV, V, and VI. When Talus first came to the shop, I was absolutely blown away. Daughter of Sabro, Talus has some characteristics of its mother, but being wild pollinated, it took on many other characteristics. Most find Sabro pretty single use in Aroma, and very powerful with coconut. Talus on the palette goes from Pink Grapefruit, to Coconut, to Piney, to Peppery. It is also a dual-purpose hop and can be used for bittering and aroma. We have used Talus as a dry hopped Saison and were absolutely blown away. This recipe is purposefully built for Talus, and without further words, I’ll let the recipe speak for itself!
