Goodziskie is a traditional polish beer brewed with 100% Oat Smoked Malt that was revived by the Polish Homebrewers Association in 2011.The beer is traditionally light in the alcohol hops and smoke at 3-3.5ABV. It is described as a mid-strength smokey type hybrid pilsner brewed with a German Ale or Kolsch type yeast. The smoke favour is subtle unlike the German smoked beers from Bamburg and will be a great beer to drink as the nights get a bit cooler. If you've been to Boston, you might have tried a Sam Adams beer. This brewski is inspired by their Boston Lager. The simple grain bill provides a decent malt backbone to accompany the mellow noble hop profile. When Talus first came to the shop, I was absolutely blown away. Daughter of Sabro, Talus has some characteristics of its mother, but being wild pollinated, it took on many other characteristics. Most find Sabro pretty single use in Aroma, and very powerful with coconut. Talus on the palette goes from Pink Grapefruit, to Coconut, to Piney, to Peppery. It is also a dual-purpose hop and can be used for bittering and aroma. We have used Talus as a dry hopped Saison and were absolutely blown away.
